"I'm gonna give it to a track that I've been playing out in the clubs for the last couple of months, so I've seen the reaction. It comes from a rising star coming from Porto in Portugal, AVÖ. He had a bit of a moment a couple of years ago with 'Dana Dana' featuring Rima, which did rather well. And this new record actually got released last week on MoBlack. This week's ENT, my final one for 2025, is 'Disco Ball' from AVÖ and Nasso."

  • The major labels’ big deals with Suno and Udio have posed a number of important questions for the wider music community - including how AI income will be shared between the song rights and the recording rights. The Independent Music Publishers International Forum (IMPF) has now joined ECSA in demanding that the two copyrights are valued equally. (CMU) 
  • It looks like Sony Music intends to continue litigating against Udio despite the AI music generator’s lawsuit-ending agreements with Warner Music and Universal Music. (DMN)

  • The years-long legal battle between Ultra Records founder Patrick Moxey and Sony Music has finally come to an end. (Billboard) Sony sued Moxey less than a year after acquiring Ultra, claiming he was illegally still using the 'Ultra' name for his separate publishing business. Moxey’s publishing company brought a lawsuit of its own against Sony claimed Sony was distributing over 100 unlicensed compositions Ultra Publishing owns.

  • Hook Music, a fan-first, remix-driven ecosystem, issued a statement, writing it is "aware that Suno has unveiled a feature titled 'Create Hook,' a name and function that closely echoes Hook Music’s trademarked brand identity and core product experience."   • Spotify reported Wrapped 2025 saw over 200 million engaged users within the first 24 hours, 19% more than last year. Last year, it took Wrapped 62 hours to reach 200m users.
