Pete Tong's Essential New Tune
Edge of Desire
Jonas Blue & Malive
Defected
out now
Comment
"It comes from an artist more familiar with the mainstream pop world. An artist who already has three songs that each have over 1 billion streams. An artist who I honestly believe, if he put this out under a pseudonym, it would still be the ENT of the year, and none of us would be any the wiser. But he put it out under his own name, so respect to him, he completely cracked it. The ENT of 2025, crowned in July, released on Defected, is 'Edge of Desire' from Jonas Blue and Malive."
The Essential New Tune of 2025 was featured in last week’s Friday show on BBC Radio 1. Listen again and forward to 1:56.20 here
